Kiteboarding Line

Kiteboarding line must be made of a material strong enough for it to withstand the rigors required of them. Dyneema, an extremely strong polyethylene fiber, is often used in the manufacturing of these lines. This material is actually much stronger than even steel.

Many kiteboarders will alter the length of their kiteboarding line. Longer lines are generally considered better for light winds. However, for windy, choppy conditions, shorter lines are recommended.

Kiteboarding line is used to connect the kite to the control bar. The rider uses the control bar to essentially steer the kite. Because the rider is directly connected to the kite through these lines, it is imperative that they be in good condition every time they’re used.
