Kiteboarding Equipment

The most obvious piece of kiteboarding equipment is the board itself. There are a variety of designs currently available though a number of different manufacturers. The right board to purchase depends on your abilities and the type of riding you want to do; but consulting with an expert can be a great place to start.

A kite is also a necessary piece of kiteboarding equipment. Kites typically fall into one of three categories: Bow or Flat, C-shaped, and Hybrid. Each type of kite has its own unique characteristics which should be considered before purchasing.

Buying the right combination of kiteboarding equipment can significantly impact the riding experience. An aggressive kite matched with an advanced board should not be purchased by a beginning rider. When in doubt, be sure to consult with an expert before investing the money in gear that will not suit you.
