Kiteboard Harness

The kiteboard harness is designed to anchor the kite to the rider. There is usually a line from the control bar that connects to the rider’s harness, allowing him/her to use body weight as a means of control. Harnesses come in several different varieties.

The most basic kiteboard harness, as well as one of the most popular versions, is designed to wrap around the lower back. These provide a substantial amount of back support as well as providing an adequate anchoring point for the kite. They are also much easier to take on and off, often only having one or two buckles.

Other kiteboard harness varieties include those that are combined with other kiteboarding apparel. Some impact vests incorporate a harness at the bottom, just as some will be incorporated into the top of board shorts. Whichever your choice, make sure you’re getting a quality harness if you want the most comfortable ride.
